Dr Tom Watson

Dr Tom Watson is a fully UK accredited Consultant Paediatric Radiologist.  He is registered with the General Medical Council and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists.  He is a member of the British and European Societies of Paediatric Radiology.

Dr Watson attended the University of Birmingham Medical School.  He completed his general radiology training in Leeds and then undertook paediatric imaging fellowships at two of the world’s top five children’s hospitals; Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, and The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto Canada.  During these fellowships he developed a special interest in paediatric abdominal imaging.

Dr Watson was appointed to the position of Consultant Radiologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in 2014.  He is the clinical lead for ultrasound and is the specialist radiologist for the gastroenterology service.  Dr Watson provides a full range of diagnostic body radiology services.

Tom has published widely in the fields of paediatric inflammatory bowel disease, oncology, and chest disease.  He has lectured nationally and internationally on the subject of paediatric abdominal imaging.  He is internationally renowned as an expert in imaging of early-onset inflammatory bowel disease.  Tom’s spare time is spent running after his two young children. He is also a keen cyclist.

Dr Watson’s NHS appointment is at Great Ormond Street Hospital.  He can see private patients at The Portland Hospital for Women and Children.
